Chimney breast removal in Bolton
Removing a chimney breast in Bolton? We take out the breast and support the stack above on engineer-designed steel, then make good ready for decoration.
Bolton's stone-built terraces and larger millstone-grit houses around Heaton and Bromley Cross, plus the semis of Horwich and Westhoughton, keep us busy with knock-throughs and chimney work — the stone construction here needs careful propping and pricing.
Taking out a chimney breast can free up valuable floor space in a kitchen, living room or bedroom. When the breast is removed but the chimney above stays, the remaining masonry must be supported — usually on a steel beam designed by an engineer.
